Liberty Hill Intimate Courtyard

What a difference stain and the right plants make. This was a straightforward impactful facelift to a private courtyard on San Francisco’s Liberty Hill.

Charcoal stain brought the mismatched fence materials together causing it to visually recede and make the space feel larger. The nearly black fences became the perfect backdrop for cream splashed variegated foliage and pops of yellow and white flower color. Weather permitting, the homeowners now fling open the glass doors to double the size of their living room and welcome in the fresh air and floral scents.
